The Give a Gift campaign is in place to facilitate the donation of toys and gifts to children between the ages of 12 months and 14 years, who will receive very few to no Christmas Presents on Christmas morning due to financial constraints.

There are sadly an unbelievable number of children in our district who are affected by poverty and the campaign gives members of the public a chance to purchase a toy or gift for a child in their local area and we make sure it reaches them ready for Christmas morning.

How to take part:

  • Buy a gift for a child between 6 months & 14 years of age

  • Take the gift to a drop point at one of our partner organisations

The gift will be collected from the drop off points by one of the team, checked for suitability and donated to a family who appeal for help, or to Child Services who are able to identify families who are in financial difficulty.

If you or someone you know is going to struggle to buy a gift this Christmas, then please get in touch.

You can write in to The Spalding and South Holland Voice, or email us with deals of the family you wish to be helped.

Please note, it is vital that we have a point of contact so that we can effectively make the donation.

“Having founded the Give a Gift Campaign 8 years ago I am extremely excited to be launching it again this week for Christmas 2018. I am absolutely delighted to be working alongside the South Holland Voice newspaper along with longstanding partners to the campaign, Baytree Winter Wonderland, We’ll Let Your House, Sainsbury’s , Beals Department Store, Karsten UK, DGG Property Consultants and South Holland District Council, all of whom offer not only collection points, but also support the campaign through extremely generous donations.

Christmas is not about presents, it is about family, sharing and celebrating. But, as a father, I could not imagine the look on my Thomas’ face if he was to run downstairs on Christmas morning, to see no presents to open. This is however the case for many children across South Holland which is why I founded this extremely successful campaign 7 years ago.

Please help is ensure that less fortunate children in South Holland have a Christmas present to open this Christmas. We are asking for you to donate a Christmas present to one of our collection points for a children aged between 3 years and 14 years old. We respectfully ask that the gifts are in new or ‘as new’ condition and we are unable to accept cuddly toys, makeup, toiletries or food/ perishable items due to health and safety. The presents can be of any value to suit your budget, we are however unable to accept money. The presents will then be distributed by myself and my team to less fortunate families, with any leftover going to South Holland and Boston Child Services in time for Christmas.”
